SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 97
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Donna Eymard, who is retiring as deputy port director |
|
|
of the Port of Brownsville after 21 years of distinguished |
|
|
service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Donna Eymard began her career with the Port of |
|
|
Brownsville in 2000; in her role as deputy director, she has |
|
|
overseen the finance, human resources, information technology, |
|
|
and administrative services departments of the agency, and she |
|
|
has served as interim port director on multiple occasions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Before joining the port, Donna enjoyed a long and |
|
|
successful career in the banking industry; she climbed the |
|
|
executive ladder to become vice president of International Bank |
|
|
of Commerce, the largest minority-owned bank in Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Donna is a highly regarded administrator and a |
|
|
member of numerous professional organizations; in 2004, she was |
|
|
named one of the Top 10 Leading Women in Gulf Transportation by |
|
|
Gulf Shipper magazine; she has also earned recognition for her |
|
|
extensive work in the community and is a founding member of the |
|
|
South Padre Island Walk for Women; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure as deputy port director, |
|
|
Donna has handled her wide-ranging responsibilities with |
|
|
exceptional skill and dedication; she has set lasting standards |
|
|
for excellence at the Port of Brownsville, and her leadership |
|
|
will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Donna Eymard on her outstanding |
|
|
career with the Port of Brownsville and her many contributions to |
|
|
the community and extend to her best wishes in all her future |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
