SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 194
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Alpha Alpha Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa
  Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, which was chartered on March 7,
  2021, and serves the areas in and around Kaufman and Rockwall
  Counties; and
         WHEREAS, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is an international
  service organization that was founded in 1908 on the campus of
  Howard University in Washington, D.C.; the organization's
  membership consists of nearly 300,000 distinguished and
  successful women who exert a positive influence on society by
  promoting excellence in their communities and by advocating
  greater equality and opportunity for all; and 
         WHEREAS, The sorority's members are dynamic women
  representing diverse professional backgrounds, and area members
  in the South Central Region have worked tirelessly to build
  partnerships with local businesses, school districts, and
  individuals to serve the communities within and surrounding
  Kaufman and Rockwall Counties; and
         WHEREAS, Since 2019, the members of Alpha Alpha Omicron
  Omega Chapter, formerly known as Pearls by the Lake, have
  fulfilled the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
  Incorporated, by serving their communities in multiple
  capacities; members have performed over 1,000 hours of community
  service and provided various charitable donations, and the
  chapter has participated in public seminars in areas of
  education, health, economics, the arts, and global impact; and
         WHEREAS, The members of Alpha Alpha Omicron Omega Chapter
  and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, represent the
  highest ideals of civic service, and it is indeed fitting that
  the Texas Senate recognize this exemplary group and the many
  great women who have helped the organization continue to fulfill
  its mission of service; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, hereby commend the Alpha Alpha Omicron Omega
  Chapter and extend best wishes to its members for continued
  success in their endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
