SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 219
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
join the Texas Association of Realtors and Texans across the |
|
|
state in celebrating April 9, 2021, as Realtor Day at the Texas |
|
|
Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Realtors, known as Texas |
|
|
Realtors, has more than 135,000 members; it is the largest |
|
|
professional association in Texas, and its members are engaged in |
|
|
every aspect of the state's diverse real estate interests, |
|
|
including farm and ranch, property management, and |
|
|
international, residential, and commercial real estate; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Real estate and housing are essential to state and |
|
|
local economies; property purchases can produce jobs in the |
|
|
construction industry, and each transaction contributes greatly |
|
|
to the growth and prosperity of local communities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Realtors adhere to a strict code of ethics that |
|
|
demands competence, fairness, and integrity in carrying out the |
|
|
work in their profession; during the COVID-19 pandemic, realtors |
|
|
have demonstrated an impressive ability to adapt to changing |
|
|
conditions so that Texans could continue to pursue the American |
|
|
dream of home ownership; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During sessions of the Texas Legislature, Texas |
|
|
realtors traditionally converge at the Capitol to meet with |
|
|
elected officials to discuss issues critical to the Texas real |
|
|
estate industry, and this year, the association has adapted the |
|
|
event to a virtual setting; it is indeed fitting that a day be set |
|
|
aside to honor the Texas Association of Realtors and the realtors |
|
|
of Texas; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Association |
|
|
of Realtors on their many contributions to our state and |
|
|
recognize April 9, 2021, as Realtor Day at the Texas Capitol; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the association as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
