SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 227
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Hector Manuel Cabello
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Hector Manuel "Meme" Cabello, who died
  May 24, 2020, at the age of 73; and
         WHEREAS, Meme Cabello was a cherished Texas citizen and a
  beloved member of the Laredo community, who was known for his
  strong work ethic and his deep devotion to family; and
         WHEREAS, Meme Cabello was born in Laredo on September 4,
  1946; after his graduation from Martin High School, he attended
  the University of Houston and worked in the grocery business with
  his brother for many years; he went on to lead a successful and
  rewarding career as a business owner and established the Cabello
  Wrecker Service and an auction service for surplus goods; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Cabello was active in the Laredo community,
  and he regularly attended worship services with his wife at
  Emmanuel Evangelical Church; he was involved in a number of local
  organizations, and he was a committed supporter of groups for
  military veterans and Sacred Heart Children's Home; and
         WHEREAS, Noted for his engaging sense of humor and his
  exuberant spirit, he loved to dance and to entertain friends and
  family with his quick wit and his captivating and creative
  stories; he was dedicated to providing for his family, and he
  found joy in supporting them in their pursuits; and
         WHEREAS, Meme Cabello was a man of wisdom, integrity, and
  generosity, and he was beloved by many; he leaves behind memories
  that will long be treasured by all who were privileged to know him
  and to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Hector Manuel Cabello:  to his cherished wife, Rebecca
  Garza Cabello; his three children, Chris, Nicole, and Gabriel;
  and his five grandchildren; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Meme Cabello.
