SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 340

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Dr. Peter D. Scholl, who retired on April 9, 2021, after more than 40 years of outstanding service as a physician; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Scholl began his distinguished medical career in the field of dentistry after earning a degree from The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston; he returned to school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston to obtain his medical degree, and he completed his medical internship at affiliated hospitals, including Hermann Hospital; and

WHEREAS, He performed his specialty training as an otolaryngologist at the University of Colorado at Denver and completed a fellowship in head and neck surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; and

WHEREAS, He began working in private practice in Austin in 1986, and he provided care to patients as a physician with Austin ENT Associates and with Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin; he is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Head and Neck Surgery Society; and

WHEREAS, An esteemed physician, Dr. Scholl is trusted and respected by his former patients and colleagues, and his service as a member of the Austin medical community has made a positive difference in the lives of countless Texans; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Peter D. Scholl on his exemplary career and on his invaluable contributions to the Austin community and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of regard from the Texas Senate.
