SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 361
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the first annual Flower Mound Smoke Fest Competition
  and Fundraiser, which is taking place May 15 and 16, 2021; and
         WHEREAS, The Flower Mound Smoke Fest is hosted by the
  Flower Mound Summit Club, a nonprofit organization that supports
  youth, education, and community service; the Summit Club is the
  oldest civic group in Flower Mound, and in 2018, it was
  designated by the Town of Flower Mound as the Community
  Organization of the Year; and
         WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Lone Star Barbecue Society, the
  2021 Smoke Fest features 20 talented teams from throughout North
  Texas that are competing in three traditional Texas barbecue meat
  categories; the family-friendly weekend also includes a People's
  Choice barbecue competition, games, music, and a car show; and
         WHEREAS, Proceeds from the event will go to fund
  scholarships and academic awards for area students and will also
  be used to support local community organizations; and
         WHEREAS, Texans are known for their love of barbecue, and
  the Flower Mound Smoke Fest is sure to provide cuisine to satisfy
  the most discriminating of palates and offer entertainment for
  attendees of all ages; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, hereby commend the organizers and sponsors of the
  Flower Mound Smoke Fest Competition and Fundraiser and extend to
  all best wishes for a rewarding and successful weekend; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special event as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
