SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 384
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Michael Meek, who retired on January 31, 2021, after
  more than 25 years of outstanding service as president and chief
  executive officer of the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of
  Commerce; and
         WHEREAS, Michael Meek joined the Greater New Braunfels
  Chamber of Commerce in 1988 as director of its Convention and
  Visitors Bureau after having served as board chairman of the
  Rockport Chamber of Commerce; he was named the chamber's
  president and chief executive officer in 1995; and
         WHEREAS, A veteran of the real estate industry, Mr. Meek
  was instrumental in the formation of the chamber's strategic
  plan, which was created in conjunction with the city's plan to
  streamline local development projects; and
         WHEREAS, He played a vital role in the creation of the
  Central Texas Technology Center and in the expansion and
  remodeling of the New Braunfels Civic and Convention Center; he
  helped develop the Leadership New Braunfels program and was a
  staunch advocate for bringing more jobs to the community; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary civic leader, he is respected and
  admired by his colleagues, and his leadership at the Greater New
  Braunfels Chamber of Commerce will be greatly missed; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, hereby commend Michael Meek on his exceptional
  service as president and chief executive officer of the Greater
  New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce and extend to him best wishes
  for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
