HB463 by Shaheen (Relating to ineligibility to serve as a poll watcher.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend the Texas Election Code to change the eligibility requirements for poll watchers.  Currently, a person is ineligible to serve as poll watcher if they have been convicted of an offense in connection with conduct directly attributable to an election. The bill would extend this prohibition to include all felony offenses and any misdemeanor offense in connection with conduct directly attributable to an election.

According to the Secretary of State, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
