IN RE:	HB465 by Shaheen (Relating to changing the eligibility for release on parole of certain inmates serving sentences for trafficking offenses involving one or more child victims.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to parole eligibility.  Under the provisions of the bill, individuals serving sentences for certain trafficking of persons offenses would be ineligible for release to parole supervision.

The Office of Court Administration, the Department of Criminal Justice, and the Board of Pardons and Paroles indicate the modifications outlined in the bill's provisions will not result in a significant fiscal impact.  This analysis assumes implementing the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions would not result in a significant impact on the demand for state correctional resources. 

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
