HB544 by Minjarez (Relating to creating a voluntary certification for recovery housing.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add Chapter 469 to the Health and Safety Code to require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to adopt minimum standards for recovery house certification. The bill would require HHSC to authorize one or more credentialing organizations to develop and administer a voluntary certification program for recovery housing. The bill would require HHSC to submit an annual report on certified recovery housing. The bill would prohibit the use of state funds for an uncertified recovery house.

It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
