LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 6, 2021

TO:
Honorable Stephanie Klick, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB797 by Howard (Relating to allowing home and hospice agencies to administer certain vaccines.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would allow home and community support services agencies and certain employees of those agencies to purchase, store, or transport any FDA-approved vaccine created to treat or mitigate the spread of a communicable disease for the purpose of administering the vaccine to agency employees, patients, or patient family members under a physician's standing orders.

The Health and Human Services Commission indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed with the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
