No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to allow a court to consider the intentional unemployment or underemployment of either spouse when determining an original spousal maintenance order. The bill would also amends the Family Code to clarify that the amount specified in a maintenance order may be modified by the filing of a motion. 

According to the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system  is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
