IN RE:	HB867 by Thompson, Senfronia (Relating to the issuance of a qualified domestic relations order for the payment of spousal maintenance and child support obligations.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to permit a court to render or enforce a domestic relations maintenance order or child support order permitting payment of pension, retirement plan, or other employee benefits to an alternate payee to satisfy amounts due under the maintenance or child support order.

According to the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state courts is anticipated. 

According to the Office of the Attorney General, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2021.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
