LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION
March 15, 2021
TO:
Honorable Chris Turner, Chair, House Committee on Business & Industry
FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB875 by Lopez (Relating to the prohibition of housing discrimination on the basis of age or certain housing needs and to the enforcement of that prohibition.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to the prohibition of housing discrimination on the basis of age or certain housing needs and to the enforcement of that prohibition could be absorbed using existing resources. The Texas Workforce Commission reports there is not sufficient data to reliably predict fiscal impact to the State but it is not expected to be significant.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
