No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code to permit a court to award a party reasonable fees and expenses, certain damages, and postjudgment interest, to impose certain sanctions on a party and the party's attorney, and to take any other action authorized by law or rule regarding frivolous pleadings where the opposing party previously removed to federal court a suit filed under Chapter 6 or Chapter 106, as applicable, and the court with jurisdiction under Chapter 6 or Chapter 106 makes certain findings related to the nature of the removal.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
