No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to require a magistrate to release a person charged with violating parole or mandatory supervision on personal bond pending hearing if the person violated a condition of release by committing a new offense and has been released on bond for the new offense.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration (OCA), the Department of Criminal Justice, and the Board of Pardons and Paroles, no significant fiscal impact to the State is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
According to OCA, while the bill may result in decreased jail costs for local governments, a significant fiscal impact to local governments is not anticipated.
