LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 21, 2021

TO:
Honorable Bryan Hughes, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1262 by Bowers (relating to education and training for peace officers on interacting with certain persons.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to education and training for peace officers on interacting with certain persons could be absorbed using existing resources.

This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing sanctions for criminal offenses would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
