IN RE:
HB1277 by Campos (Relating to the operation of a transitional housing pilot program by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the operation of a transitional housing pilot program by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA). Based on information provided by TDHCA, the Comptroller of Public Accounts, and the Department of Motor Vehicles, this analysis anticipates no fiscal implication to the State.
Local Government Impact
It is unknown how much future funding would be available for the Transitional Housing Pilot Program from the Ending Homelessness Fund (which is funded by voluntary contributions). Nor is it known which counties, if any, would receive grants under the program. Therefore, while a positive fiscal impact on those counties receiving grants from the program is anticipated, the extent of that impact, if any, cannot be determined at this time.
