FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 13, 2021

TO:
Honorable Stephanie Klick, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:

IN RE:
HB1291 by Bell, Keith (Relating to notice of the right to object to participation in an abortion procedure for health care personnel of a hospital or health care facility.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Occupations Code Chapter 103 to require a hospital or health care facility to provide written notice containing certain information to each physician, nurse, staff member, or employee of the hospital or facility.

The Health and Human Services Commission and the University of Texas indicate any cost to implement provisions of the bill would be minimal and could be absorbed within available resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
