No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would establish a task force to study best practice standards for the confinement of pregnant inmates in county jails. The Texas Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS) would appoint members to the nine person task force. The bill would also direct the task force to produce a written report no later than December 1, 2022. According to TCJS, the costs associated with the bill's provisions could be absorbed using existing resources.
