LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 27, 2021

TO:
Honorable Jim Murphy, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1482 by Johnson, Jarvis (Relating to measures to assist students enrolled at public institutions of higher education who are homeless or who are or were in foster care.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Education Code relating to measures to assist students enrolled at public institutions of higher education who are homeless or who were formerly in foster care. This analysis assumes that any costs for institutions of higher education and the Higher Education Coordinating Board to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
