The bill would amend the Government Code to prohibit certain regulations from being adopted by governmental entities that would restrict the use of a natural gas or propane appliance or other system or component.
According to the Office of the Attorney General and the Public Utility Commission, any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.
According to the Texas Facilities Commission, the Office of Public Utility Counsel, and the Railroad Commission, no fiscal impact is anticipated from the provisions of the bill.
