No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Texas Historical Commission (THC) to establish guidelines for an application that would be used for the relocation of a historical marker, monument, or medallion. THC would be required to review the applications and make a determination regarding the relocation. Decisions made by the commission could be appealed in a contested case under the Government Code, Chapter 2001. 

THC indicates that there could be a need for additional FTEs and other costs associated with an increase in applications submitted and potentially appealed. Ultimately, costs would be dependent on the volume of applications and appeals. This analysis assumes costs could be absorbed by THC.
