HB1706 by Neave (Relating to a specialty court program to provide victim services in sexual assault cases.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would allow the commissioners court of a county to establish a sexual assault victim services court program. The bill would allow local administrative district and statutory county court judges of the county to designate a court in the county for assignment of cases. The bill would establish requirements for judges and prosecuting attorneys for the courts.

Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources. In addition, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
