No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Education Code, and the Family Code as they relate to status offenses committed by a child and would repeal of the status offense of a child voluntarily running away from home.
According to the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal implication to the state court system is anticipated.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the Department of Family and Protective Services, and the Juvenile Justice Department, no fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources.
Local Government Impact
According to El Paso County, the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact on its county juvenile system.
