HB1750 by Crockett (Relating to the use of force or deadly force in defense of a person.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code to provide that in order to assert self defense or to use deadly force in defense of another, a person must prove that he or she had consent or otherwise had a right to be present at the location where the force was used.

Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

The Texas Association of Counties does not anticipate a significant fiscal impact to counties.
