HB1984 by Vasut (Relating to the duration of a special open hunting season for game animals and certain game birds restricted to persons under 17 years old.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to specify that a special open season for persons under 17 years old may not be shorter than seven consecutive days. The bill would take effect September 1, 2021, or immediately if it received a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. Based on information provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
