LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 21, 2021

TO:
Honorable Stephanie Klick, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2052 by Klick (Relating to public access to certain hospital investigation information and materials.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would expand the information related to complaints and investigations concerning a hospital or mental health hospital that is subject to public disclosure. The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission to post certain information regarding alleged violations by a hospital or mental health hospital on the commission's website.

This analysis assumes there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill that could be absorbed within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
