No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code to require all candidates for city office to declare a party affiliation. The bill would further require that a candidate's party affiliation appear on the ballot next to the candidate's name and that a candidate's political party alignment or nonalignment be stated on the candidate application.
The Secretary of State indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Association of Counties, no significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
