No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Health and Safety Code, Section 571 to add physician assistants to the definition of a non-physician mental health professional. 

Based on information provided by the Texas Education Agency, The University of Texas System Administration, and the Texas Medical Board, no fiscal impact is anticipated. The Health and Human Services Commission indicates it could absorb the costs associated with the bill within current resources. The Office of Court Administration indicates the court system could absorb the costs associated with the bill within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
