No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill establishes a digital identity work group consisting of 15 members, which is tasked with developing recommendations for the use of digital identity in Texas and identifying optimal policy relating to digital identity technology.

It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to the Trusteed Programs Within the Office of the Governor could be absorbed using existing resources.

According to the Secretary of State, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated to result from the provisions in this bill.

The Department of Information Resources and the Department of Public Safety indicate that no fiscal impact is anticipated to result from the provisions in this bill.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
