FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 9, 2021

TO:
Honorable Terry Canales, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2220 by Canales (Relating to the marketing and sale of certain license plates by a private vendor.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Transportation Code ยง504.851 to authorize a contract entered into by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) and a private vendor for the marketing and sale of specialty license plates to allow the private vendor to establish a range of premium embossed license plates to be marketed and sold by the private vendor.

Based on information provided by TxDMV, it is assumed implementation of the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the State.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
