LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 12, 2021

TO:
Honorable Will Metcalf, Chair, House Committee on House Administration

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2227 by Wilson (Relating to an interim study regarding the composition of the boards of directors of certain river authorities.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the legislature to establish a joint interim committee to study the effects of altering the composition of the boards of directors of several river authorities. The committee would be required to submit a report of its findings to the legislature no later that December 1, 2022, and would be abolished December 31, 2022. This analysis assumes that the duties and responsibilities of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
