No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to lower the threshold for a place on the ballot for the State Bar of Texas president-elect position from 5 percent of the membership to 1 percent and would require that the election rules permit electronic signatures on a written petition.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
