LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 27, 2021

TO:
Honorable Stephanie Klick, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2409 by Dean (Relating to the waiver of requirements for removing a person's license from inactive status during a state of disaster.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code to direct the Board of Nursing (BON) to waive fee payment or continuing education requirements for certain applicants seeking to reinstate their licenses from inactive status during a state of disaster.

It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources. BON does not anticipate that the bill's provisions would result in significant changes to the fee revenue generated.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
