HB2448 by Canales (Relating to the verification of the incarceration of an accused person in a criminal case for the purpose of discharging a surety's liability on a bail bond.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to remove a provision that prohibits a surety from being relieved from liability on a surety bond if the person insured is in federal custody on an immigration detainer or awaiting determination as to whether the person is lawfully in the United States.

According to the Office of Court Administration (OCA), no significant fiscal impact to the State court system is anticipated. 

Local Government Impact

According to OCA, no significant fiscal impact to units of local government is anticipated.
