LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 30, 2021

TO:
Honorable Stephanie Klick, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2490 by Howard (Relating to the authority of certain minors to consent to Texas Home Visiting Program services.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code to allow a minor who is otherwise eligible for a home visiting program to consent to enrollment in and to receive services from a home visiting program.

Based on analysis of the Department of Family and Protective Services, it is assumed that the costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
