LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION
March 24, 2021
TO:
Honorable James White, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety
FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2675 by Guillen (Relating to a license to carry a handgun for a person who is at increased risk of becoming a victim of violence.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to a license to carry a handgun for a person who is at increased risk of becoming a victim of violence could be absorbed using existing resources.
This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions for criminal offenses would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
