TO:
Honorable Stephanie Klick, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

IN RE:
HB2758 by Smith (Relating to continuing education requirements for physicians regarding the identification and assistance of trafficked persons.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code to require certain physicians seeking licensing renewal to complete at least one hour of continuing medical education regarding the identification and assistance of trafficked persons. The bill would require the Texas Medical Board (TMB) to approve the associated courses.

TMB indicates that anticipated costs could be absorbed using existing agency resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
