No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to allow the state, subject to the Texas Rules of Evidence or other applicable law, to offer testimony or other evidence of all relevant facts and circumstances, including testimony or evidence regarding the nature of the relationship between the actor and the alleged victim, that would assist the trier of fact in determining whether the actor committed the offense in the trial of certain sexual offenses, including trafficking of persons, aggravated sexual assault, and prostitution related offenses.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
