LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 28, 2021

TO:
Honorable Brooks Landgraf, Chair, House Committee on Environmental Regulation

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2811 by Murphy (Relating to the release of a tier two form listing hazardous chemicals that is in the possession of a political subdivision of this state.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to specify the confidentiality of a tier two form listing hazardous chemicals that is in possession of a political subdivision and when that form may be released to the public.

Based on information provided by the Commission on Environmental Quality, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed with existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to Hay County, any fiscal impact to the county will be nominal and could be absorbed by existing staff. The fiscal impact to other units of local government cannot be determined at this time.
