No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to provide immunity from liability to veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and veterinarians who provide voluntary care or treatment to an injured animal in response to a man-made or natural disaster, subject to exceptions for grossly negligent or intentional misconduct. The bill would amend Chapter 801 of the Occupations Code to specify certain circumstances under which a veterinarian-client privilege would be waived. 

Based on the analysis provided by the Office of Court Administration, it is assumed the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the state court system. The Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners indicates the provisions of the bill would not result in an operational or fiscal impact to the agency.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
