No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code and Health and Safety Code to require a facility or a private agency on behalf of certain facilities, to obtain criminal history record information maintained by the Department of Public Safety for a person who is an applicant of or a volunteer with the facility.

The Health and Human Services Commission indicates any cost to implement provisions of the bill would be minimal and can be absorbed within available resources.

It is assumed any cost for the Department of Public Safety to implement provisions of the bill would be minimal and can be absorbed within available resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
