LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 24, 2021

TO:
Honorable Chris Paddie, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3130 by Capriglione (Relating to state agency contracts for Internet application development.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 2054.113(c) of the Government Code to require agencies to notify the Department of Information Resources (DIR) of its intent to bid with a third-party for development of native mobile applications which duplicates a function of the state electronic Internet portal. Based on the analysis provided by the Department of Information Resources, it is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
