HB3426 by Raymond (Relating to the confidentiality of certain personal information of current and former service members of the United States armed forces who apply for or receive benefits and services from the Veterans Land Board.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Natural Resources Code to make certain personal information maintained by the Veterans' Land Board confidential, excluding disclosures to federal, state, or local governmental entities and vendors contracting with the Veterans' Land Board for which consent is obtained. 

Based on information provided by the General Land Office and Veterans' Land Board, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-third votes in each house or September 1, 2021.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
