No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill amend the Business and Commerce Code relating to consent for the use or possession of personal identifying information under the Identity Theft Enforcement and Protection Act. The bill would add "effective consent" as a justification for permitting a person to obtain, possess, transfer or use another person's personal identifying information.
 
According to the Office of the Attorney General, any additional work resulting from the provisions of this bill could be absorbed within current resources.
