No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to provide an exemption for the disposition of surplus property from state funded academic libraries.

Institutions of higher education are exempt from the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) surplus process, and these institutions do not utilize the agency for surplus and salvage property disposal.  The TFC anticipates no impact to the operations of the State Surplus Property Program if the bill provisions were implemented.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
