LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 2, 2021

TO:
Honorable James B. Frank, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB4058 by Meza (Relating to a study on the provision of applied behavior analysis services to children with autism under Medicaid and other public benefits programs.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission to conduct a cost-benefit analysis comparing the cost to the state of providing applied behavior analysis services to children with autism compared with the effectiveness of the services in treating children with autism and submit a report on the commission's findings. This analysis assumes there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill that could be absorbed within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
