No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Occupations Code ยง801.504 to establish a state jail felony for the offense of practicing veterinary medicine without a license if it is shown on the trial of the offense that the actor falsely represented that the actor was a veterinarian or affiliated with a veterinarian's practice during commission of the offense.
The Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners indicates the provisions of the bill would not impact the agency's operations. This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions for criminal offenses would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.
