LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 7, 2021

TO:
Honorable Andrew S. Murr, Chair, House Committee on Corrections

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB4214 by Allen (Relating to the eligibility for an occupational license by certain former inmates and the practice of certain occupations by an inmate of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to the eligibility for an occupational license by certain former inmates and the practice of certain occupations by an inmate of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice could be absorbed using existing resources.

This analysis assumes implementing the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
